GreenRoots Foundation is a registered non-governmental organisation headquartered in Mangaldai, Darrang, Assam, dedicated to transforming the agricultural landscape of India through the seamless integration of modern technology, community-driven support systems, and sustainable farming practices. Founded with the unwavering belief that every farmer in India deserves access to the tools, knowledge, and market opportunities that can elevate their livelihoods, GreenRoots has set an ambitious vision to empower more than 10 Lakh farmers across all 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India by 2030, delivering its platform in 23 officially recognised Indian languages to ensure that no farmer is left behind due to linguistic barriers.

At the heart of our mission lies a comprehensive digital platform that bridges the critical gap between traditional farming wisdom and cutting-edge agricultural technology. Our platform provides farmers with real-time weather advisories powered by OpenWeatherMap, personalised crop management tools, a transparent digital marketplace where they can list and sell their produce directly to buyers without middlemen, a secure digital wallet for seamless financial transactions, and GreenBot — an AI-powered agricultural assistant built on advanced language models that can answer farming queries in English, Hindi, and Assamese. Every feature has been designed with the Indian farmer in mind, prioritising simplicity, accessibility, and practical value over unnecessary complexity.

Our operational model is built on a robust hierarchical structure that ensures accountability and reach at every level. GreenRoots operates through a network of State Heads, District Heads, Block Coordinators, Panchayat Coordinators, and Village Workers — each playing a vital role in connecting farmers to our platform and providing on-the-ground support. Coordinators conduct GPS-verified field visits, record crop conditions, provide face-to-face agricultural guidance, and serve as the human bridge between our technology and the farming communities we serve. This hybrid approach — combining digital innovation with grassroots human engagement — is what sets GreenRoots apart from conventional agri-tech solutions.
