This Shipping Policy ("Policy") outlines the terms and conditions governing the delivery and shipping of physical products purchased through the GreenRoots Foundation marketplace platform (https://greenrootsindia.org). This Policy applies to all marketplace transactions involving the physical delivery of agricultural products, seeds, fertilisers, farming equipment, and other tangible goods listed on the Platform by registered sellers.

1. Platform Role

GreenRoots Foundation operates as a technology platform that facilitates connections between agricultural product sellers (primarily farmers and agricultural suppliers) and buyers. It is important to understand that GreenRoots Foundation does not itself sell, ship, store, warehouse, or handle any physical products listed on the marketplace. We are a technology intermediary that provides the digital infrastructure for marketplace transactions. All shipping, packaging, dispatch, and delivery responsibilities rest entirely with the individual sellers who list products on the Platform. Consequently, shipping practices, costs, timelines, and policies may vary significantly from seller to seller.

2. Shipping Responsibility

Each seller on the GreenRoots marketplace is independently responsible for the following:

  • Packaging products securely and appropriately to prevent damage, contamination, or spoilage during transit, with particular attention to perishable agricultural products that may require temperature-controlled or expedited shipping.
  • Dispatching products within the timeframe specified in their product listing. If no specific dispatch time is mentioned, sellers are expected to dispatch products within five (5) to seven (7) business days from the date of order confirmation.
  • Selecting a reliable shipping carrier or delivery method appropriate for the product type, destination, and buyer expectations.
  • Providing accurate tracking information to the buyer, where available, through the Platform or direct communication.
  • Bearing all shipping costs unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product listing or agreed upon with the buyer.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing the transportation of agricultural products, including phytosanitary requirements, food safety standards, and interstate commerce regulations.

3. Estimated Delivery Times

Delivery timeframes depend on the seller's location, the buyer's location, the shipping method selected, and the nature of the product. General estimates are as follows:

  • Local Deliveries (within the same district): Two (2) to five (5) business days.
  • State-Level Deliveries (within the same state): Five (5) to ten (10) business days.
  • Interstate Deliveries (across state borders): Seven (7) to fifteen (15) business days.
  • Remote and Rural Areas (including Northeast India, island territories, and areas with limited logistics infrastructure): Ten (10) to twenty-five (25) business days.

These are estimated timeframes and actual delivery times may vary due to factors beyond the control of either the seller or GreenRoots Foundation, including weather conditions, transportation disruptions, customs or regulatory inspections for interstate shipments, public holidays, natural disasters, civil unrest, or force majeure events.

4. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are determined by individual sellers based on factors including product weight, dimensions, distance, shipping method, and carrier charges. Shipping costs, if applicable, will be clearly displayed on the product listing page before you complete your purchase. Some sellers may offer free shipping for certain products or order values. GreenRoots Foundation does not set, control, or collect shipping charges.

5. Delivery Issues

If you experience any issues with the delivery of a product purchased through the marketplace, including non-delivery, delayed delivery, damaged products upon arrival, or receipt of incorrect items, you should:

  • First, contact the seller directly through the Platform's messaging system or the contact information provided in the order confirmation.
  • If the seller is unresponsive or unable to resolve the issue within seven (7) business days, you may escalate the matter to GreenRoots Foundation by emailing greenrootsmld@gmail.com with your order details, a description of the issue, and any supporting evidence (photographs of damaged products, tracking information, communication records with the seller).
  • GreenRoots Foundation will make reasonable efforts to mediate between the buyer and seller but cannot guarantee resolution, as shipping and product quality are the seller's responsibility.

6. Perishable Products

Agricultural products listed on the marketplace may include perishable items such as fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products, and other food items. Buyers are advised to consider the perishable nature of such products when placing orders, particularly for interstate deliveries that may involve extended transit times. Sellers of perishable products are strongly encouraged to use appropriate packaging materials, cold chain logistics where available, and expedited shipping methods. GreenRoots Foundation is not liable for spoilage, deterioration, or quality degradation of perishable products during transit.

7. Order Cancellation

Order cancellation policies are set by individual sellers. Buyers should review the seller's cancellation policy before placing an order. In general, orders may be cancelled before dispatch by contacting the seller directly. Once a product has been dispatched, cancellation may not be possible, and any applicable return or refund policies of the seller will apply. GreenRoots Foundation's no-refund policy applies to platform fees and does not govern the seller-buyer relationship regarding product returns.

8. International Shipping

The GreenRoots marketplace currently operates within India only. International shipping is not supported at this time. All marketplace transactions, deliveries, and related services are limited to addresses within the territory of India.
