Refund Policy
Effective Date: April 2, 2026
This Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all transactions, donations, payments, and financial interactions conducted through the GreenRoots Foundation platform (https://greenrootsindia.org), including marketplace purchases, service fees, membership contributions, and any other payments made to or through the Platform. By making any payment on or through the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Policy.
1. No Refund Policy
GreenRoots Foundation maintains a strict No Refund Policy. All payments made to or through the Platform, including but not limited to the following, are final and non-refundable:
- Donations and charitable contributions made to GreenRoots Foundation for the support of agricultural development programmes, farmer welfare initiatives, and organisational operations.
- Membership fees, registration fees, and subscription charges for access to premium platform features, agricultural advisory services, or programme participation.
- Marketplace transaction fees, platform service charges, and commission payments deducted from seller proceeds for the facilitation of marketplace transactions.
- Payments for agricultural inputs, seeds, fertilisers, equipment, or other physical products purchased through the marketplace from third-party sellers.
- Digital wallet top-ups, fund transfers, and any other financial transactions processed through the Platform's wallet system.
- Fees for training programmes, workshops, webinars, and capacity-building events organised by or through GreenRoots Foundation.
2. Rationale
The no-refund policy exists because GreenRoots Foundation is a non-profit organisation that operates on limited resources. Funds received are immediately allocated towards programme implementation, farmer support services, technology infrastructure maintenance, coordinator salaries, field operations, and other operational expenses essential to our mission of empowering Indian agriculture. The immediate utilisation of funds makes it impractical to process refunds without adversely affecting ongoing programmes and the communities we serve.
3. Exceptions
In rare and exceptional circumstances, GreenRoots Foundation may, at its sole and absolute discretion, consider processing a refund or credit in the following situations:
- Duplicate Payments: Where a technical error or payment gateway malfunction has resulted in the same transaction being charged more than once, we will refund the duplicate amount after verification of the duplicate charge. Users must report duplicate charges within seven (7) days of the transaction.
- Unauthorised Transactions: Where a payment was made without the authorisation of the account holder due to account compromise, fraud, or identity theft, and the user can provide sufficient evidence of the unauthorised nature of the transaction. Such cases must be reported within forty-eight (48) hours of the transaction.
- Platform Error: Where a verified technical error on our Platform resulted in an incorrect charge amount that is significantly different from the intended transaction amount. Users must report such errors within seven (7) days.
4. Exception Request Process
To request consideration for an exception to this no-refund policy, you must:
- Send a detailed email to greenrootsmld@gmail.com with the subject line "Refund Exception Request."
- Include your full name, registered email address, transaction ID, transaction date, amount, and a detailed explanation of the circumstances warranting the exception.
- Attach any supporting documentation such as bank statements showing duplicate charges, screenshots of error messages, or evidence of unauthorised access.
We will review your request within fifteen (15) business days and communicate our decision via email. The decision of GreenRoots Foundation regarding exception requests shall be final and binding. Approved refunds, where applicable, will be processed within thirty (30) business days to the original payment method.
5. Marketplace Transactions
For products purchased through the marketplace from third-party sellers, any disputes regarding product quality, delivery, or condition must be resolved directly between the buyer and the seller. GreenRoots Foundation may assist in mediating disputes upon request but is not obligated to issue refunds for third-party transactions. Sellers on the marketplace may establish their own return and exchange policies, which should be reviewed by buyers before completing a purchase.
6. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company for a legitimate transaction, GreenRoots Foundation reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account and pursue recovery of the disputed amount through appropriate legal channels. We encourage users to contact us directly before initiating chargebacks so that we can attempt to resolve any concerns amicably.
